Discovery & advisory

Talk through your Proxmox plans

Discuss your infrastructure goals, questions and training needs with David. Start with the outcome you want to achieve.

1-hour discovery session

Bring your current challenges and the questions that matter to your team. This is an initial conversation to understand your needs.

What would you like to clarify?

  • Readiness: what your team needs to understand before choosing a platform or course.
  • Migration: workload compatibility, dependencies, cutover and recovery questions to investigate.
  • Availability and storage: the objectives behind clustering, quorum, shared storage and Ceph decisions.
  • Backup and restore: what must be recovered, what evidence exists and which questions remain unresolved.
  • Product learning: whether you need VE foundations, cluster administration, PBS or PMG-specific learning.

Prepare a useful environment summary

You do not need to send production credentials to explain your goals. A short, non-sensitive summary can make the conversation more useful:

  1. The outcome and decision you want help clarifying.
  2. Current platform/product versions and an approximate host/workload overview.
  3. Relevant storage, network, guest and external-service dependencies.
  4. Any downtime, recovery, budget or timing constraints you already know.
  5. Questions raised by previous tests, failed changes or recovery rehearsals.
  6. Team experience, preferred learning language and possible training dates.

Keep passwords, private keys, sensitive logs and customer records in your organisation’s approved channels. You can begin with a high-level diagram or task list.

Discovery, training and further work

A discovery conversation helps identify the next step. Training may help your team build knowledge; an environment-specific service may require a separately agreed scope. Any implementation, formal assessment, migration delivery or additional advisory is discussed and agreed separately.

For existing public learning options, compare Proxmox Official Training and check the English or 中文培训 registration pages. Dedicated PBS and PMG learning needs should be confirmed rather than inferred from a VE checkout.

Language and scheduling questions

Use the booking calendar to check available times and confirm communication needs. Learners using UTC+8 can state that time zone when discussing training schedules. 普通话沟通及中文学习需求可在预约时说明;繁體中文學員亦可先整理目標與環境問題。

Before your session

What should I prepare?

Make a short list of your goals, current challenges and questions. Bring details you are comfortable sharing.

Does this guarantee a result?

No. The session helps us understand your needs and discuss suitable options. Any further work, training or advisory is agreed separately.
